The band Fritz Brothers takes its name from the great Austrian violinist Fritz Kreisler, renown for the sweetness in his tone and the charm in his phrasing! This band brings the best melodies from classical music to 1930s Paris, where Gypsy Jazz rhythm guitar swung the bars and clubs of Montmartre. You'll hear some of the most-loved tunes by guitarist Django Reinhardt, alongside a Chopin nocturne, a Rachmaninov vocalise, a Dvorak spiritual, and many more sublime classical pieces played in the style of the 1930s: full of soul, groove, and reverence.
With an all-star lineup led by violinist Max Baillie and clarinet player Ewan Bleach, and featuring virtuoso guitarists Frank Moon and John Kelly, and bass player extraordinaire Misha Mullov-Abbado, this is an evening of music hosted by St Leonards Concerts not to be missed! It takes place in the cosy and stylish setting of Crown House, a beautifully restored speak-easy with a bar. Seating througout, and there is a dance floor for when the spirit takes you...
