Week 4 of Ballroom Tango @ Jamboree

  • Jamboree Saint Chad's Place London, England United Kingdom (map)

This week at Jamboree we have the final part of the four part corse that runs from March the 30th til April 20th. Raymond Root will be leading the class with live piano accompaniment from Ewan Bleach. The evening will then continue with 3 sets from The Cable Street Rag Band until 11:30, with a free jam until 12:30 so plenty of time to try out your new moves!

Ballroom tango is a partnered dance, but you don’t have to come as a pair, we’ll be rotating partners through the class. Tango was one of the first dances to bring couples together and is likely one of the reasons that it has been so popular in different areas all over the world. Because of its acceptance in global cultures, there are now numerous styles of Tango, including Ballroom Tango. Ballroom Tango is very theatrical. The very purpose of this style is to make adjudication at competitions easier and to perform for audiences. Therefore, the style has changed little over the past several decades. The steps are based on specific patterns and are very stylised.
